Some frighteningly good fun was had at an early Halloween event.

The Phantasmagorical Pumpkin Party saw more than 60 kids do Halloween craft-making at Paint Pot Tots and play loads of games, including dookin’ for apples, monster mash, doughnut string game, toilet roll mummy and Halloween limbo.

They also enjoyed an animal show and danced the afternoon away with DJ Stuart Ritchie.

There were prizes for best dressed boy and girl and an award for those brave enough to hold a corn snake, tarantula, cockroach and more during the animal handling sessions.

Doors opened again later in the evening for the family disco at 6.30pm.

Where’s Wally?, Cruella de Vil and Fred Flintstone all attended to party to dance the the night away and former St Mirren legend Steven Thomson and his wife turned up as Danny Zucko and Sandy from Grease.

The parties were organised by Blue Coral Events, which is run by Nicola Steele from Houston and Gaynor Day, from Bridge of Weir.

Gaynor said: “We absolutely love putting on events within our own local community.

“The turnout was brilliant and the effort people went to with their costumes was incredible.

“The best part for us without a doubt is seeing the enjoyment on all the children’s faces.

“A massive thank you to everyone that came along to either one or both of our events.”
