Women suffering abuse at home now have various ways to seek help discreetly.

Renfrewshi­re Women’s Aid offers free and confidenti­al services for women and is ran by women.

The team can give you advice about your rights when it comes to finances and housing; allocate a support worker for any young people or children; offer you a dafe place to stay or simply let you speak to soeone in confidence.

Renfrewshi­re Women’s Aid has launched its own Facebook page to help people get in touch quicker.

The Paisley-based organisati­on was set up in 1985 to offer support, give informatio­n, provide accommodat­ion and make refuge available to women, children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse.

Hundreds of domestic abuse victims speak to the team, based in Violet Street, Seedhill, every year.

The charity has 19 safe accommodat­ions, with confidenti­al addresses, across the Paisley area to shelter women and their kids.
