Workers give school a makeover
A Paisley primary school has been transformed thanks to some kind- hearted handymen.
Kids are enjoying the new amenities at Lochfield Primary after staff from gas company SGN gave up their time to give the grounds a makeover.
Volunteers from the company visited the school every day last week, working tirelessly to improve the facilities and overall look of the playground.
Around eight to 10 workers attended each day, and they gave a fresh coat of paint to all the benches and the shed and cleaned the bike shed roof with a pressure washer.
They also provided new picnic tables and dug up unsightly bushes at the front of the school, filling the space with stones.
And the kids have really scored with their new football facilities.
Much to the children’s delight, SGN bought them a new set of seven-aside goals..
At the end of the week, pupils presented the workmen with a handmade card, thanking them for their hard work.
Headteacher Claire Macgregor Duncan said the school was extremely grateful for the support.
She said: “The volunteers have worked tirelessly and we so appreciate it. The playgrounds look much better and the children are looking forward to their new football goals.
“I cannot thank them enough - they are a great company with super community spirit.”
SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and south of England.
