National membership system finally launched
Paisley and Renfrewshire cricket sides look set to benefit from a new membership drive from Cricket Scotland.
The sports governing body has launched its new membership structure as part of their ongoing push to improve engagement throughout the Scottish cricket game.
The new structure will offer membership categories for players, coaches, schools, clubs and fans throughout Scotland.
Three new categories have been launched, including the Saltire Club for fans of the national teams and an executive membership for supporters of cricket who wish to contribute towards club, community and regional development projects.
The membership system – Go Membership – offers members the ease of online registration and will, in the future, be utilised to manage Cricket Scotland events, courses and to provide a free database for clubs to manage their membership.
Malcolm Cannon, CEO said: “The suggestion of implementing a national membership structure for Scotland has been discussed for many years within the cricketing community and we are delighted to be launching the first stage of it.
“Other national governing bodies in Scotland have been using Go Membership and other systems for years and it is fantastic that cricket has taken this forward step.
“We look forward to engaging more closely with our members and will be listening carefully to their suggestions on how to build better relationships to the benefit of Scottish cricket.”
