Every worker deserves a Living Wage
A Paisley businessman has welcomed Living Wage Week.
Will Mylet says he has been an accredited living wage employer since 2014 and his company ,West of Scotland Removals ,is the only one of its kind in Scotland to achieve this status.
He said:“The real Living Wage makes good business sense as well as benefitting employees”,
Mr Mylet, who is also an SNP councillor for Paisley East and Central, added:“I welcome this celebration of Living Wage Week as it helps to promote the benefits of a real living wage and celebrates responsible employers that commit to ensuring their staff earn a wage they can live on.
“I have seen the benefits of the living wage within my own business and would encourage all employers in Renfrewshire to consider implementing the living wage.
“As the only removal company in Scotland to achieve living wage accreditation, I am fully supportive of this campaign. Being a living wage employer has helped with staff retention which is unusual in the removal business.
“I also find that customers have more faith in a company that looks after its employees.
“As a councillor, I have also advocated that local authorities and all other public bodies should not only pay the living wage but make it a vital element when dealing with external contractors.”
