Shopping mall plans magical Christmas experience

-

Renfrewshire’s newest and most magical Christmas experience, Santa’s Cove, has kicked off at intu Braehead.

Organisers of the magical wonderland have dedicated specific slots as autism-friendly.

As part of the Santa’s Cove experience, which runs until Christmas Eve, organisers have teamed up with the National Autistic Society (NAS) to ensure all children can be included and enjoy a magical Christmas.

Autism-friendly sessions take place on November 19, from 9am to 11am, November 25, from 9am to 9.45am and December 3, from 9am to 9.30am.

The experience takes just over an hour and there are seven elements to the attraction.

These are – Dodge the candy canes and jump over the moving Christmas presents; jump on board Santa’s sleigh and experience flying in the sleigh as Santa delivers his presents on Christmas Eve and help Santa deliver all his presents on Christmas Eve by making food for his reindeer.

The food will then be packaged and children can take it home to leave out for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. You can also make your own Christmas decoration and take it home to hang on your tree, and stop off at the Elves’Canteen for a hot chocolate while parents can have a mince pie.

There is also a naughty or nice room with a special machine that always makes sure every child gets a“nice”response.

Using information provided when parents book, the machine will give a personalised certificate, detailing what they need to concentrate on at school, what their best friend’s name is and a stick of candy will be given to every child

Finishing off in Santa’s grotto, Santa will speak to the children leaving with an extra gift for being an extra good child. For more information and bookings, visit santascove.co.uk
