Cops find stash of drugs and weapons
Police recovered a haul of drugs and offensive weapons – including air guns – during a raid on a Paisley flat.
Specialist anti-violence cops swooped on the flat in Wardhouse Road in Glenburn and seized almost £ 5,000 worth of speed and cannabis.
They also recovered six unlicensed air guns and a number of dangerous bladed weapons during the operation.
It’s believed that the haul of weapons included a crossbow.
A cannabis cultivation and a stash of amphetamines were discovered within the flat as part of a week long Police Scotland clamp down.
The flat was searched on Monday, November 6 at around 11.30am, with officers delighted with the recovery
Inspector Tracy Harkins said: “I am delighted with the success of this operation which was carried out by our local anti-violence team as part of a week long initiative.
“In total, 12 weapons were recovered. Although there is no evidence to suggest that any of the weapons have been used during the commission of a crime, this seizure ensures that such weapons are removed from society and prevents them being used in such a manner.”
A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokeswoman said a 37-yearold man was arrested in connection with alleged drugs and weapons offences.
