Art’s the way to go green
Arty adults and youngsters are going green to promote recycling and helping the environment.
A Green Arts Week, which kicked off yesterday, has been organised by East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure.
During this week, ERCL’s children’s art classes will be using recycled materials to create artworks with the theme of environmental sustainability.
And adult art classes will also learn how to paint using recycled materials instead of traditional brushes and paints.
Run by Creative Carbon Scotland, the Green Arts Initiative supports Scottish arts organisations to be at the forefront of growing an environmentally sustainable Scotland.
Chief executive of ERCL, Anthony McReavy, said: “As members of the Green Arts Initiative, we’ll also be encouraging our customers to think ecologically and use public transport, walk or cycle to our venues to attend our classes and theatre performances.”
