Drivers will face delays on bridge
Drivers are being warned of disruption to the Erskine Bridge as essential lane marking works take place.
To minimise the impact on motorists, Scotland TranServ will close the southbound carriageway of the bridge overnight this Saturday, from 10pm until 6am the following morning.
Peter McCann, Scotland TranServ’s Major Bridges Manager told the Paisley Daily Express: “We’ve worked closely with Police Scotland, the local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule these works for the period of lowest traffic disruption.
“Access will be provided for emergency vehicles only during this short programme of overnight works.
“The lane markings are in need of improvement, particularly as the winter approaches with limited light during peak travel periods.
“It is important that the markings are visible, and that’s why we are carrying out this essential project.”
Diversions via the Clyde Tunnel will be in place during the overnight closure.
Drivers travelling overnight during this period are being urged to consider their arrangements and identify alternative routes.
