Caring workers raise over £750,000

-

Kind- hearted staff at a furniture retailer in Renfrewshire have helped raise more than £750,000 for vulnerable children.

DFS Paisley joined a UKwide fundraising drive for BBC Children in Need.

Collectively, the stores raised £ 750,421 which will help disadvantaged kids in Paisley and beyond.

The team at Abbotsinch Retail Park store have been taking part in lots of fundraising activities and continuing its Give Me Five promotion.

Now in its third year, the Give Me Five campaign encourages customers to enter a competition for £ 5 when they order with DFS, with proceeds going to Children in Need.

In return, customers are entered into a monthly prize draw to win their entire order for free.

From gruelling sponsored cycles, charity football matches and rafting staff have gone above and beyond for the charity over the years.

Ashley Dakin, Paisley store manager, said: “Helping to support BBC Children in Need is a cause that resonates with all our employees and it’s great to know that the money we continue to raise makes a huge difference to the lives of the children right here in Paisley.”

Lisa Wilson, senior partnership account manager at Children in Need, added: “BBC Children in Need support projects across the whole UK but also right here in Paisley.

“Without the dedication of our corporate partners, like DFS, that fundraise throughout the year and raise funds though activities such as their Give Me 5 initiative – we simply wouldn’t be able to make the difference we do to over 2,600 projects right here in the UK.

“Thank you to everyone at DFS for their incredible support in 2017.”
