Top acts unveiled as fest gears up for five-day stint

- TRNSMT is returning and it’s even bigger

Excitement is in the air for live music fans across Renfrewshire with the announcement of the second wave of acts for TRNSMT Festival 2018. Extending the festival to five days instead of one weekend, top acts will hit Glasgow Green on Friday, June 29, Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1, then the following weekend on Friday, July 6 and Sunday, July 8. After rave reviews from the inaugural event in 2017, music fans have been on the edge of their seats desperate to hear who would be on this year’s line up.

They didn’t have to wait long, as organisers announced Liam Gallagher as the headline act for Saturday, June 30.

The global superstar has been making waves in Glasgow and the west recently, spending a day at various locations in the city to film his latest music video, Come Back To Me.

He will be joined by indie rock favourites The Courteeners, alongside Wolf Alice and J Hus.

This week, Welsh rockers Stereophonics were added to the mix, taking the headline slot for Friday, June 29.

Pop fans rejoiced at the news that Jessie J would also be performing on June 29, as well as The Script and James Bay.

Thousands of music fans from Renfrewshire and beyond descended on the festival last year.

Huge acts, all-day entertainment and glorious sunshine has set the bar high for 2018 offerings.

Those registered under this year’s pre-sale service were able to get their hands on tickets from Wednesday.

General sale launched today, with fans being able to secure one-day, three-day and five-day packages.

Anyone feeling the pinch in the lead up to Christmas can sign up for a payment plan that would spread the cost of the tickets till next summer.
