Renfrew FC Under-21s recently held a successful race night at the Kirklandne­uk Community Centre, which helped raise funds towards the cost of new kit for the team.

A club spokesman said:“A big thank you to everyone who attended and special thanks to Sue and her team at the centre

 The young Renfrew team are currently playing in the West of Scotland (Premier Division) – their first season in the top league after promotion last year.

They have recorded league wins over Ashfield, Kirkintill­och Rob Roy, St Mungo’s; Whitletts Victoria, while drawing against Barrhead YFC and losses to Rutherglen Glencairn and Harmony Row leave the team currently sitting in fourth position in the league.

“The team continues to be sponsored by Grill in the Park ,in Renfrew, who provide hospitalit­y for the boys after all matches.

“The team would welcome anyone who wishes to join them on a Saturday for after-match hospitalit­y.”

Archie Sharkie League Cup first round: 2-1 home win over Pollok Juveniles, second round: 4-3 home win over Arthurlie Juniors.

Golden Goals Cup, first round: A 5-1 away win over Harmony Row.

West of Scotland Cup: A 2-1 home defeat to Eastwood Juveniles.
