We can all do our bit to shop at local firms
Small Business Saturday was held at the weekend and it was an opportunity to showcase the fantastic local businesses in Renfrewshire and to encourage people to shop locally.
In the era of Amazon and eBay, it’s very easy to do the majority of our shopping online, not realising the great businesses that we have right on our doorstep.
To promote Small Business Saturday, I was out and about visiting various local firms.
First up was Angelwax, in Renfrew, which recently won the ROCCO Award for Outstanding Business with five or less staff.
Angelwax develops and designs a range of award-winning premium detailing products for the automotive industry
I then visited Harrods Dry Cleaners to congratulate Adil Khan on winning the ROCCO Award for Young Business Person of the Year.
Harrods Dry Cleaners are based in Bridge of Weir and take pride in their seven-stage cleaning process to ensure that all of their customers’ individual requirements are met.
Angelwax and Harrods Dry Cleaners were just two of the many businesses I popped into over the weekend and they were a reminder of the fantastic small and medium-sized enterprise sector we have in Renfrewshire.
I’d encourage everyone to take the time to shop local and visit the many great businesses that are on offer in our towns and villages.
