Danger driving denied

-

A driver was out of control at the wheel, collided with a fence and then crashed into another vehicle, it is claimed.

Douglas Anderson is alleged to have driven erratically, causing other road users to take evasive action, between Arkleston Road and Earl Haig Road, Hillington, on May 3.

In a prosecution at Paisley Sheriff Court, it is alleged that he drove through a mini roundabout and crashed into a fence, before reversing and continuing on his way.

He is said to have swerved onto the roadside verge and crossed the central line, again forcing other motorists to take evasive action to avoid him, before crashing into another vehicle.

When the case against Anderson, 31, of Glasgow Road, Paisley, was called, he lodged a not guilty plea to dangerous driving.

Sheriff Simon Fraser set a trial date for April 11, with an intermediate diet to take place on March 13.
