Police appeal after garage theft

-

Crooks swiped a mountain bike and a haul of tools after sneaking into a garage.

The raiders vaulted a wall and smashed a window with a concrete block before climbing inside.

They stole the £500 cycle and £ 1,500 of equipment from the home before disappearing.

Police confirmed they are probing a break- in at the house.

Sergeant Alan Mack says the public may hold the key to catching the thieves.

He said: “It would be difficult to move such a high quantity of tools on foot.

“We believe a car or van would have been in the area at the time.

“We would appeal for anybody who noticed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary to get in touch.”

The home in Renfrew’s Blythswood Avenue was targeted between 9pm on Tuesday and 5pm on Thursday.

A green Giant mountain bike was taken, along with high-quality workman’s gear.

Those with information should called Police Scotland on 101.
