Revenge over Millbrae today would be so sweet, says Ben

Paisley RFC captain Ben Frost insists the side have just one thing on their mind – revenge.

The Buddies welcome Millbrae to The Anchor this afternoon in the West Division Two for the team’s second meeting of the season.

Their Ayrshire rivals consigned Paisley to a 50-7 defeat in November, in what was their first loss of the campaign.

Frost admits that he and his teammates are purely focused on getting one over on Millbrae, having felt hard done by last time out.

The skipper said: “The boys cannot wait to take on Millbrae and feel wronged by what happened against them in November.

“We are under no illusions that it’ll be a tough game, but, mark my words, we will go out to right all the wrongs.

“We managed to blow a few cobwebs away last weekend against a stuffy Loch Lomond side, whilst picking up the bonus point win and it feels like we have got into our stride once again.

“There is a huge buzz at training and we are taking it one game at a time to get to our end goal of winning the league.” Braehead Clan defenceman Craig Cescon has been cleared to face Manchester Storm today. The Canadian defenceman, who is in his second stint with the Clan, had to attend hospital following last Sunday’s home game against the Fife Flyers.

However, the hospital and Clan’s medical team have given Cescon the go-ahead to play this weekend as John Tripp’s side look to bounce back from last weekend’s back-to-back defeats in the EIHL.

And Tripp admitted he was delighted to have his man back as he continues to contest with an ever increasing injury list.

Tripp said: “We were worried after Sunday’s game with Fife when Craig had to attend the hospital due to a lower body injury.

“Craig has been very solid for this season and to lose him for these two big games would have been a blow. The good news is that he has been cleared to play.”
