Man lost the plot with his ex at school

He shouted and swore in front of pupils

- Chris Taylor

A man sparked a row after bawling at his former partner outside a primary school.

Matthew Revie, 34, targeted Lyndsey Dock as she sat in her car at the gates.

He waited until two passengers got in before aiming jibes at her.

Appearing at Paisley Sheriff Court, Revie admitted shouting at her, swearing and making abusive remarks.

Prosecutor Colin Wilson told how the passengers were forced to watch as he ranted on.

He said: “Ms Dock attended in Maxwellton Street. The school bell was ringing.

“The accused came to the car and said, ‘ You’re not listening to that f*****g cow’.

“Due the behaviour of the accused, Ms Dock felt alarmed and called police.”

The court heard Revie had been in a relationship with his victim but they had since split up.

They had little contact with each other after the break-up.

Revie pounced after spotting her parked on the Paisley street on November 22 last year.

Police traced him after the outburst and he pleaded guilty to acting in a threatening or abusive manner on the west end road.

Defence lawyer Waqqas Ashraf insisted his client felt remorse.

He said: “He accepts he shouldn’t have swore.

“He accepts his behaviour was inappropriate and wrong.”

The court heard Revie had notched up two previous convictions for domestic offences.

But Sheriff Colin Pettigrew revealed he would give him a second chance, but only if he stays out of trouble.

He said: “I am prepared to put this in context, without condoning, in any way, your behaviour.

“You do have two convictions for offences, which are domestic-related.

“I will defer sentence on you for six months to see if you can be of good behaviour.”

Revie, of Westwood Gardens, has been ordered to return to court on July 2.
