Good cup run can help Arthurlie

-

Arthurlie boss Billy Ogilvie hopes his side can forget about their poor league form with a confidenceboosting cup win over Gartcairn this weekend.

‘Lie face the side currently sitting top of the Central District Second Division, and despite three divisions separating the teams, manager Ogilvie is preparing his men for a difficult match.

He said: “We’re always confident every week. We’ve had some disappointing results this season but it’s not for the want of trying.

“We are aware we’re playing tough opposition. I know some of the players and they are a good team.

“There’s absolutely no doubt that I’ll have the boys well prepared.”

Arthurlie are second-bottom of the Super Premier Division but have impressed in the Scottish Cup and today’s fourth round tie at MTC Park gives the Dunterlie Park team the perfect opportunity to rediscover their winning form.

“The cup gives us a chance to take our mind off the league and try and build some momentum,” Ogilvie added.

“A win would boost our confidence and lift everyone at the club and that’s what we want to do.”

Arthurlie have brought in two new players – defender Ryan Scanlan and goalkeeper Ahmed Mohamed.

Besides Jamie Watson being cuptied, there are no fresh injury or suspension concerns for Ogilvie’s side and both new signings will be involved in the squad for today’s match, which kicks off at 1.45pm.
