Survey shows it’s home, sweet home
Families in Barrhead and Neilston have revealed they believe East Renfrewshire is a top place to live.
Findings from the newlypublished 23rd East Renfrewshire Citizens’Panel revealed just over half of those surveyed throughout the entire council area cited its strong reputation, educational opportunities and safety as their main reasons for choosing to live in the district.
Of the 702 survey respondents, 92 per cent said they were satisfied or very satisfied with East Renfrewshire as a place to live.
Respondents were generally positive about their quality of life too, with almost two thirds rating their quality of life at eight or more out of 10 and almost 60 per cent indicating they are managing very well or quite well financially.
Health and healthcare was reported as the most common issue affecting respondents and their families. This was followed by education, roads and transport and the cost of living/financial issues.
East Renfrewshire council leader Tony Buchanan said:“It’s fantastic to see that satisfaction about living here remains high, but I know there are areas where residents want us to do more.
“I want to reassure residents that we are not complacent and always strive to improve the services which matter most to residents.”
