Church set to give singer a very warm welcome

-

An internationally renowned songwriter and worship leader is to perform at a Paisley church.

Volunteers at St Matthew’s Church of the Nazarene have invited Lou Fellingham to the town as part of her‘This Changes Everything’tour, and as part wider initiative to bring new uses to the stunning Art Nouveau building.

Gillian McBride, from Paisley, and Shona Arrighi, from Renfrew, have attended St Matthew’s since childhood and have been volunteering as part of the church’s Alive Kids Club for several years.

Gillian said:“I had seen a post on Lou’s Facebook page looking for venues as part of the‘This Changes Everything’tour and events like our recent musical made me realise that something like this would be possible for Paisley and St Matthew’s.”

Shona added:“Two or three years ago, we probably wouldn’t have considered suggesting such a large scale and modern concert, but seeing events over the past year, made possible by the Paisley 2021 funding, has excited us to try new things.

“We may have missed out on the UK City of Culture title, but the process has made us feel that this was something we could still do.”

With more than 20 years in the music industry, Brighton-based Lou is an established songwriter and worship leader with no fewer than five albums under her belt.

St Matthew’s says she is known for her distinctive voice and an unwavering energy, and wants to see lives changed through the power of music and Scripture.

The tour will see her perform with a full band and new songs.

Nathan Fellingham, tour manager, said: “We are excited to bring Lou’s latest album tour to Paisley and it will be an incredible night of great live music.

“It sounds like St Matthew’s has a great team and we cannot wait to meet them all.”

The concert will take place on Saturday, March 17, at 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 (£7 concession), and are available at www.paisleystmatthews.org/ lou-fellingham2.html
