Gavin Divers, from Glenburn, is using drones to capture some “epic shots” of Renfrewshire’s landscapes and most iconic buildings in a series of 12 videos.
The tech-savvy 34-year-old Buddie will use the flying gadget to scale Paisley’s Abbey and capture the sprawling Gleniffer Braes from the sky.
The footage will accompany stories based on the town’s history.
Through the videos, viewers will see not only the town but the places where Paisley people were involved in Scotland’s history.
Mr Divers said: “It’s quite exciting the journey we are going to go on. Hopefully nothing has been done like this before.
“We’ll be going into the Abbey, we’ll be going to the coast, we’ll be going up mountains, we’ll be going up the Braes, and we’ll be going to the locations of battles – some really interesting video content.
“There should be some epic shots.”
An introductory video has already been posted on Facebook.
It was filmed at Woodside Cemetery, in Paisley, and features a kilted clansman brandishing a claymore.
“It’s still very early days,” Mr Divers said.
“We thought we would get the intro video out and see how that looked. “That’s doing quite well. “We’ve had 5,600 views just now. “It’s all about the pop. It’s all about making it in-your-face, putting you back to that time when you can almost smell the grass and feel the wind.
“It’s trying to keep it loose. It’s not trying to pinpoint things at this point.
“The first three videos will be about setting the scene – what it was like for an individual. How did they live? What did they eat? How did they work? What was marriage like?
“So it’s really quite general to begin with, just to set the tone.
“And then as we go we will pinpoint individuals and pinpoint locations and environments.”
