You can help protect wildlife
Residents are being urged to have their say on plans to protect and enhance Renfrewshire’s biodiversity.
The council has drawn up a plan which outlines how it will maintain and enhance the wildlife and environment across the district.
It has worked in partnership with 25 biodiversity organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors to draw up the biodiversity action plan.
It’s the first action plan solely for Renfrewshire, following on from the 2004 plan which also covered East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.
The vision for 2030 outlined in the plan is for Renfrewshire to have an environment abundant in wildlife that is enjoyed and respected by people, making the area a beautiful place to live, work and visit.
The draft plan was approved by the communities, housing and planning board last November. The consultation is available to view until Friday, February 23, at the council’s customer service centre in Renfrewshire House between 8.45am and 4.45pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am and 3.55pm on Fridays.
