Tenants can have their say
A Paisley councillor is urging tenants in Renfrewshire to have their say on the future of the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR).
SNP councillor Mags MacLaren, who represents Paisley Northwest, says Buddies can help shape the organisation.
The regulator, which released an interim report outlining some key ideas going forward, will use any feedback to form its new framework.
Councillor MacLaren said: “It is important tenants make their voices heard within this discussion to ensure they help shape the SHR’s priorities.
“The regulator’s discussion paper explains how it will continue to focus on safeguarding and promoting the interests of tenants, people who are homeless and others who use social landlords’ services.”
George Walker, the regulator’s chair, said “For social landlords, effective ways for tenants and service users to have their voices heard are critical.
“Our work to date has promoted a strong tenant voice.
“We are keen to hear what people think about our ideas overall, and to get their views on a number of more specific questions.
“We welcome feedback from all organisations and individuals with an interest in our work.”
