Sheriff fines him and says he needs to start behaving

A yob bawled abuse at his girlfriend’s neighbours then told cops called to lift him: “I’m going to do you, you bunch of b******s.”

Boozed- up Lauchlan Mullen, 37, sparked a row after yelling abuse from the street at a family living in his partner’s block.

He continued hurling insults even after he was loaded in the back of a police car

At Paisley Sheriff Court, the bully admitted acting in a threatening manner by shouting, swearing and behaving aggressively.

Prosecutor Frank Clarke told how two sisters looked out after they heard the menace sounding off in their road.

He said: “On listening closely, they heard, ‘Aye, send your father down, I’ll batter his c*** in.’ “He was looking directly at them. “He was aggressively pointing and shouting at them. “The matter was reported to police. “They attended and he was traced to an address where he was found to be heavily under the influence of alcohol.

“During the journey to the station, officers spoke to his behaviour becoming more and more erratic and hostile.

“This culminated with him telling them, ‘I need to stop ranting at my neighbours and landing myself in the s**t.’

“On arrival, his behaviour once again became aggressive and obstructive.

“He began to shout at police, ‘Get me f*****g Bob Kerr, you bunch of f*****g c****.’

“When asked for his particulars, he replied: ‘I’m going to do you, you bunch of b******s.’

“He also referred to one officer in a most improper and disgusting manner.”

The court was told a feud had developed between Mullen and the family in Paisley’s Underwood Court.

He had been drinking before he turned up outside the building and started yelling around 6.30pm on September 2 last year.

Defence lawyer James Arrol told how his client’s girlfriend claimed she had been in a spat with the pair before he kicked off.

He said: “There had been some form of argument between his partner and two ladies and she told him she had been threatened.

“He had been drinking and shouted up at their dad.

“There should be no repeat of this because his partner has moved from the street.”

Mullen has a history of street disturbances and breach of the peace convictions.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew warned him he will be dealt with harshly if he returns to court again.

He said: “The comment you need to stop ranting at your neighbours says it all.

“The only thing that enables me to make this a monetary penalty is the gap in your offending.

“There are far too many of these on your record.”

Mullen, of Well Street, was fined £500.
