Easter camps here we come
Hone silky soccer skills Bid to help wee cricket stars shine
Paisley kids are set to have a ball at St Mirren Park this spring as the club opens its doors for its annual Easter coaching camps.
The fun sessions will be held over the school Easter holidays – running from Monday, April 2, to Friday, April 6, and from Monday, April 9, to Friday, April 13, at the club’s Airdome and Lochwinnoch’s Lochbarr Services.
The camps have become a staple of the diary for youngsters, with budding Lewis Morgans, Stephen McGinns and Gavin Reillys all set to learn from the club’s community coaches.
A club spokesman said: “Is your son or daughter the next St Mirren star? Are you looking for something exciting, fun and developmental for your child to do over the Easter holidays? If so, St Mirren in the Community is the place for you.
“St Mirren in the Community is delighted to announce that bookings are now being taken for our ever-popular Easter Football Camps.”
Players aged between three and 12 years old will be put through their paces by experienced and qualified community and academy coaches.
Daily themes will cover all skills and attributes of the modern-day footballer, such as dribbling, passing and control, heading, finishing and flicks and tricks, all within a safe and fun learning environment.
Participants are required to bring with them suitable indoor clothing and footwear, shin guards and goalkeeper gloves, if appropriate, in addition to a light healthy snack and plenty of water/non-fizzy drinks.
Places are limited and bookings can be made by downloading and completing the application form on the official St Mirren website and returning to Ross Paterson at The Paisley 2021 Stadium.
Payment must be made in full at the time of booking to confirm places.

All Stars Cricket hopes to inspire five to eight-year-old children to take up the sport through a fun first experience of the game. Ferguslie, Kelburne and Renfrew Cricket Clubs are all set to play host to the eightweek programme, which begins in May.
Registration is now open, with each child who goes along receiving a pack of cricket goodies including a cricket bat, ball, backpack, water bottle, personalised shirt and cap. There will also be a chance for youngsters to meet current Scotland internationalists.
Ian Sandbrook, director of participation at Cricket Scotland, said: “We believe All Stars Cricket could be a game-changer for the sport in Scotland.
“We think the programme will provide children and their parents with an outstanding first step into the sport and help create a generation of youngsters with a lifelong love of the game.
“Our excitement stems from the huge number of benefits that the scheme provides.
“As well as the personalised participant pack sent to each child’s door as part of an easy online registration process, All Stars Cricket involves nine out of 10 fundamental movement skills, is fun, safe and inclusive and gives the children the chance to rub shoulders with the elite players in Scotland.”
