A new campaign will be launched this morning to tell the rest of the world what we already know... Paisley is THE place to be.
Renfrewshire Councilfunded ‘ Paisley Is’ follows the internationally-recognised 2021 City of Culture bid to highlight everything the town, and wider Renfrewshire, has to offer visitors.
A slick new website, Paisley.is, will be the go-to place to highlight events across the region, with an aim to attract 3.3million fresh faces to the area by 2020.
The ambitious tourism target could boost revenues at local attractions, venues, pubs and restaurants by up to £ 90million each year.
And the first big event to whet the appetite for Paisley Is, is next month’s bumper Food and Drink Festival.
The festival will take place over two days for the first time - on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28.
The very best of Scotland’s producers will showcase their wares to visitors in Paisley’s iconic Abbey Close.
Visitors can experience tasting sessions with the likes of Gin 71 as well as a fantastic selection of street food vendors, interactive workshops, live music and Scotland’s largest real ale festival.
For the first time Pitt Street Food Market, Scotland’s first street food market which won the Scottish Street Food Awards, will be at the festival with some of the best street food vendors from around Scotland.
Foodie fans can also sample some more taste sensations from Babu Kitchen, Mighty Mexican, Linton and Co Coffee, Scozzese Pizza and Sharma Street Food.
Cooking demonstrations will take place with a mystery celebrity chef to allow visitors to learn the

best tricks of the trade and children will have the opportunity to get some hands- on foodie- fun experiences.
The festival will run alongside the Paisley’s Real Ale Festival, which will take place from Wednesday, April 25 to Saturday, April 28 and is run by the Renfrewshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.
One of the organisers from the Campaign for Real Ale, Karen Moore, said: “We’re very excited
