Kilbarchan will be well represented at Loughborough

-

Kilbarchan AAC athletes will be in the thick of the action as the cross country season closes and the Inter-Counties event this weekend marks the conclusion of the Scottish XC Grand Prix.

That’s for senior athletes but those from all ages will head to Loughborough looking to make significant impact on the last fixture of the British Cross Challenge Series.

A total of 81 athletes from across the country are listed to compete for their Scottish Districts at Prestwold Hall today.

There are no senior Kilbarchan athletes listed among those competing, though Scottish regulars Lachlan Oates, Steph Pennycook, Michelle Sandison and Kayleigh Jarrett will all be in action.

But there are a number of Habbies youngsters set to be on show as they look to continue their recent good form.

At under-20 level, Laura Stark, Holly Thompson and Rona Tytler have all signalled their intentions to battle it out for the medals in the women’s race, while Josh Hendry is Kilbarchan’s sole runner in the under-20s boys.

Cameron Wright is in action in the under -17s race, while Jack Patton heads back to the track in the under-15s event following his gold medal display in the last round of races in Falkirk.

A scottishathletics spokesman said:“We commend those athletes and their coaches for taking the opportunity to test themselves in the deeper competition presented by the Inter-Counties.”
