Olly had to be at our big day

Pooch is special guest at couple’s wedding

- Kathleen Speirs

A pair of Buddies whose dogs attended their wedding ceremony say they haven’t gone barking mad as the trend is taking the world by storm.

Laura and Jamie Croft, both 25, got hitched with their pooch by their side.

The love birds said I do with their little bichon frise Olly in attendance.

Using local wedding dog sitting service, Barking Mad, Laura told the Express she wouldn’t have had the happiest day of her life any other way.

“Olly is like our own child we love him so much,” she said.

“When a friend told us about Barking Mad we knew it was for us.

“Our wedding was so special and we just did not want Olly to miss out.”

Suited and booted in a special bow tie, Olly joined guests at Lylesland Church before moving onto the Lochside House Hotel at Loch Lomond.

Barking Mad provides a service where beloved pets can be looked after while their owners get hitched.

If the couple would like their dogs taken to and from the ceremony to witness the special occasion and take some photos, staff will do that too.

Owner-operator Faye Carruthers said: “Wedding day pet care can be very problematic as pretty much everyone you would trust to look after your four-legged best friend will be a guest at your special ceremony. At Barking Mad, we simply adore dogs and understand that they become a real part of the family.

“As such, it can be unfathomable to consider having such an important celebration without them!

“Our bespoke dog wedding chaperone service allows the bride and groom to relax and enjoy the wedding, knowing their pet is in safe hands.

“We create an experience which the wedding party and their guests will love, providing fantastic photo opportunities and creating treasured memories, whilst also ensuring the happiness and welfare of their dog.”
