Thieves nicked a motor from a Paisley street after trying a number of doors in the area.
The duo stole the 60 plate black Ford Fiesta from Glenbrittle Drive before dumping it.
Police are looking to trace the men, who are believed to have tried to gain access to homes in the area, before making off with the car.
It is understood they were confronted after they entered a home in Glen Gavin Way, claiming they were looking for a screwdriver before making off.
They were also seen walking down garden paths in Glenarklet Drive around 5pm on Sunday evening.
They made off with the car from Glenbrittle Drive before leaving it a short distance away in McIntyre Place.
One of the two suspects is described as being aged between 29 and 44, white, around 5ft 10in, with short brown hair and a stocky build.
He was wearing dark clothes, with dark motorcycle boots. Police say he may have a scar on the left side of his face.
