Winning record pleases the gaffer

-

St Mirren boss Jack Ross has heaped praise on his side after they extended their home clean-sheet record to six games on Saturday.

Dumbarton are now the last side to have scored against the Buddies in Paisley, in what proved to be a 1-0 win for the Sons back in December 2.

Ross said:“It is a really good record and testament to the players involved in that because the personnel has changed at times. But it is a record to be proud of and one that gives you a really good platform to win games and have success

“We knew we had to improve it because we were never going to score the number of goals we scored in the first quarter.

“We had a really good first quarter in terms of how many we scored, and that’s been testament to the work being done on the training pitch and the group of players themselves.

“They are willing to try and take on board what we’re asking for them. It sounds very simplistic, but if you get that combination right then you’re going to have a good season.”
