Brute kicked woman in street

-

A bully booted his partner of almost 30 years to the ground after squaring up to her in the street.

John Hynes, 53, stood nose to nose with Heather Tweedy then shoved her over during a drunken row while walking home from a party.

He kicked her to the pavement after she stumbled back to her feet.

The brute admitted assaulting his victim when he was hauled into Paisley Sheriff Court.

Defence lawyer Rhona Lynch revealed her client hoped to get back together despite being turfed out after the attack.

She said: “He very much hopes he may be able to reconcile, even though it may have to be slowly-does-it to start with.”

The pair had been heading home from a New Year’s party when he exploded in a fit of rage.

Hynes pushed the woman with both hands, causing her to fall in Paisley’s Netherhill Road.

He then kicked her backside when she got up and tried to walk away around 1.30am on January 1.

The court heard the thug began rambling about “issues of trust” before he pounced on the way to nearby Bruce Road.

Police locked him in a cell after being called to the home.

The couple had been together for nearly three decades.

But Hynes has since been made homeless and ordered to keep away from Ms Tweedy.

Ms Lynch claimed her client was remorseful and was “considerably under the influence”.

Sheriff James Spy ordered him to complete 140 hours of unpaid work in 10 months.
