Dad broke order repeatedly

-

A foul- mouthed dad who swore at his estranged partner notched up his third offence involving the same woman, a court was told.

Derek McLauchlan, 37, lost the plot with Charlene Graham, 35, when he went to his daughter’s school and clocked his ex-partner walking with the youngster.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Mr McLauchlan, of Kintyre Avenue, Linwood, admitted breaking the bail order preventing him from approaching or contacting her after turning up at the primary school.

Fiscal depute John Penman told the court Mr McLauchlan and Ms Graham who separated after more than 11 years together have two children.

He said: “Ms Graham attended Woodlands Primary to collect her daughter. As she came out of the school holding her daughter’s hand, she heard a male voice shouting.

“She turned round and saw the now accused at the school grounds. He approached Ms Graham and said, ‘What the f*** are you doing?’

“Ms Graham replied she was taking their daughter home and she made her way to the school’s office and contacted police.”

The court heard Mr McLauchlan was arrested, where he told officers he had only been at the school to “pick up my wee lassie.”

Yesterday he pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions preventing him from approaching, contacting or attempting to contact Ms Graham on November 28, 2017.

The court heard it is his third complaint involving the same woman.

Defence agent Nadine Dormer said the £300-a-week warehouse worker was in fact the principal carer for the children, and he had been surprised to see his expartner at the school.

She said: “Th e i r relationship broke down. The children live with him. The complainer had entered into a new relationship.

“He was upset that day. She shouldn’t have been there to take their daughter as he is the principal carer.”

Sheriff Tom McCartney said: “This is a serious situation. There are three cases involving the same woman.

“One involving behaving in a threatening and abusive manner last October.

“Subsequent to that, there are two failures to comply with bail conditions by making contact with Ms Graham.”

He adjourned sentencing to call for background reports.

Mr McLauchlan wi l l discover his fate when returns to court on April 17.
