Nursery’s garden fundraiser
Tiny tots in Renfrewshire have taken to the streets in a bid to create a new back garden.
Mini Buddies from Glencoats Nursery braved the nippy temperatures for a fun sponsored walk.
Raising £200 on the day, the event was organised to help fund a new garden and outdoor area.
Nursery manager Jessica Collin told the Paisley Express the renovation would make a huge difference.
“Collin Care took over Glencoats Nursery in February 2017 and one of the main things we wanted to do was change the garden,” Jessica said.
“It’s not dangerous and the children are able to go out to play in it.
“But it is really run down and dilapidated.”
Tots, babies and staff had a great time pounding the pavements around the local area to raise as much money as possible.
“It was a real team effort, everyone got involved,” Jessica added.
“We had babies being pushed in prams from six weeks to our five- yearolds.
“Everyone had a great time.”
Staff at the centre in the town’s Blackstoun Road have grand plans for the new garden.
“Work will hopefully start in the summer,” Jessica added.
“While we will be looking to get new grass down we also want a climbing frame and play area.
“It will make a huge different to the children, we know they’ll just love it.”
