Airport adds more routes for the summer

Jet2. com is launching two new routes at Glasgow Airport as part of the airline’s summer 2019 plans.

The airline is introducin­g two weekly services to Kos and Naples, taking the airline’s total number of sun and city destinatio­ns from Glasgow to 33.

The firm will also introduce an additional 90,000 seats across its Glasgow Airport-based destinatio­n network.

Steve Heapy, chier executive officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holida­ys, said: “We are putting our biggest-ever summer programme on sale from Glasgow Airport, with two brand new destinatio­ns and 950,000 seats going on sale for Summer 19.

“The addition of a Boeing 737800 aircraft represents another huge investment in our base here, and gives local holidaymak­ers even more choice and flexibilit­y with our award-winning airline and tour operator.

“Yet another summer of growth here at Glasgow Airport is only possible thanks to our loyal customers, and it shows that our hard work in offering them great value package holidays and family-friendly flights is working.”

Glasgow Airport’s commercial director Francois Bourienne said: “Jet2.com’s decision to create jobs through the basing of an additional aircraft at Glasgow Airport is welcome news.

“The move not only strengthen­s our position as Jet2. com’s largest Scottish base with seven aircraft, but with a total of 33 destinatio­ns to choose from next summer the airline will serve more routes than any other individual carrier from Glasgow Airport.”
