Teenagers to represent Scots in this month’s Mini Marathon
Kilbarchan AAC’s Jack Patton and Cameron Wright have both been selected to represent Scotland at the London Mini Marathon.
The duo will join four Scotland sides making the trip south for the upcoming event being held on Sunday, April 22.
Their selection follows on from the pairs’ success at the recent Lindsay’s runs in Falkirk, which saw both athletes take top spot in their respective events.
A scottishathletics spokesman said: “It is always an eagerly-awaited event for the youngsters involved and we are delighted to field teams of six at both Under-17 and Under-15 level for the trip south.
“Selections this year were made on the basis of ‘known form’ during 2018 across a range of events – including track, road and cross country – with the Young Athletes Road Races unfortunately falling victim to the severe weather in Greenock on Sunday, March 18.
“We congratulate each and all of the athletes selected and their families and coaches, as well as the clubs involved in their development.
“There is a real spread of clubs from across Scotland represented this year and it’s good for athletes to see the pathway towards international selection.”
