-

Buddies enjoyed the unique opportunity to learn how to write a comic book script from one of the best in the business.

John McShane hosted a comic book script writing workshop at Foxbar Library this month.

Enthusiasts hoping to become the next Alan Moore or Neil Gaiman gathered at the centre on Ivanhoe Road for an afternoon of top tips and creative expression.

A legend in the comic book scene, John is one of the founding members of one of the longest running comics societies in Europe, which still meets every month in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

With his business partners, John went on to create AKA Books & Comics.

He now co- runs Plan B Books, Glasgow’s first dedicated graphic novel shop.

The group brainstormed for lots of big ideas for a potential new comic.

John then taught them the process of putting words to a page.

A spokesperson from Foxbar Library said: “Thank you to the people who attended our workshop at Foxbar Library.

“We hope you enjoyed the session as much as we did.

“It maybe filled someone with inspiration to produce the next comic book hit.”

The event in Foxbar was just many the drew fans from Renferwshire and beyond to the town as part of Paisley Comic Con.

The family friendly festival is dedicated to exploring and discovering new and exciting comic creations, showcasing a range of local Scottish creative talent.
