Book in to keep kids amused

-

Gentle pestering by his grandchildren led a Paisley Daily Express journalist to come up with an entertaining family quiz book.

Rob Reid, who works at the Express as a sub-editor, was regularly asked by youngsters James, Logan and Robbie to quiz them on their knowledge of Marvel and DC comics while on long car journeys.

And this gave Rob the bright idea for a quiz book that would ask those questions and hundreds more.

The author had ,in f act, come up with the perfect antidote to boring car journeys in the shape of‘Are We There Yet?’, which is out now in e-book form.

Rob, 65, said: “This book aims to entertain and educate bored kids who are confined in a car, train or bus over a long period – and at the same time, convince them to lift their heads from laptops, tablets or smartphones.

“It covers a range of popular media, including television programmes and film, but also includes questions to test their general knowledge.

“The questions are aimed at an easy or moderate level, but

there are a few tricky customers in there as well.

“I got the idea after my grandsons regularly pestered me to quiz them about Marvel and DC comics when we were making frequent car trips through to the east coast.”

And it is not just children who will enjoy Are We There Yet?.

Parents, grandparents and carers will also benefit from keeping their youngsters busy as the book demolishes the pester factor instantly and turns trips into journeys of adventure and fun.

The e-book is available at the Amazon Kindle Store, priced £1.99. Visit www.amazon.co. uk/dp/B07BML4CY2
