Get ready for big changes to bus timetable

-

Bus operator McGill’s has announced widespread changes from next month.

The changes, which start on Monday, May 7, are designed to tackle overcapacity on some of the routes.

The biggest change is replacing the 101 service with number 26, which will run more buses more often to ensure passengers travelling to and from intu Braehead shopping centre and Paisley won’t miss out.

The new 26 timetable will operate every eight minutes between Nethercraigs in Paisley, Renfrew, and intu Braehead with every second bus continuing to Glasgow every 15 minutes. Customers can board number 26 at the previous 101 stance three at Braehead to continue to Paisley.

Service 21 will terminate at Braehead so anyone trying to get to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) can either get the number 17 from Paisley or 23 from Renfrew or Braehead.

Erskine passengers will have a combined 15 minute service with the 23 and X23 both running increased services.

Passengers using service 66 will notice a changed route. It will no longer serve Weir Street and instead go along Bridge Street and Cotton Street to Gauze Street. From Monday to Saturday the service will run between Paisley and Dykebar Hospital, but will no longer service Shortroods or Glasgow Airport. On Sundays, it will continue
