Step back in time at Hamishes’ relaunch

-

One of Paisley’s most iconic pubs is making its official comeback this weekend, after fears it would close for good. Hamishes’ Hoose is hosting a relaunch night tomorrow evening. The night of top entertainment is a reminder for Buddies that one of their favourite watering holes is going nowhere. At the beginning of this month, devastated punters heard the news that pub boss Piero Pieraccini had been forced to close Hamishes’ Retro karaoke party to mark pub being back in business

Hoose.

The move came after insurers refused to pay out following a kitchen fire, resulting in a £40,000 loss for the legendary landlord.

Determined to ensure the Paisley favourite didn’t go down the drain, Paisley bar owner Alan Maxwell stepped in to take over.

Within days the pub was up and running again, re-opening to customers on April 13, just days after the announcement of its closure.

Now staff are holding a relaunch party to officially welcome revellers back to the popular pub.

Chatting to the Express about keeping the venue open, Alan Maxwell said: “Hamishes’ Hoose is such a legendary food and drink venue in Paisley.

“I saw a really good opportunity to take this project on.

“Seeing the pub go would have been such a loss.

“That’s why I made enquiries straight away.”

“Hamishes’ has such a good reputation and we want to continue this.”

Kicking things off from 8pm tomorrow night, the pub is hosting an eighties and nineties cheesy music night with a DJ and karaoke.

There will also be drink promotions and dancing. The event is free entry. For further updates visit www.facebook.com/ Hamisheshoosepaisley/.
