Appeal by cops after boy attacked
A man assaulted a young boy in the street during an ongoing neighbourhood dispute.
The 12-year-old suffered minor injuries after he was attacked in Paisley’s Green Road on Tuesday afternoon.
It is understood the incident unfolded as part of a long-running disagreement between neighbours that got out of hand.
The incident happened around 4pm on Tuesday, and police were called a short time later.
Police say the boy was not seriously hurt, but was left badly shaken by the incident.
Officers have appealed for witnesses to the assault to come forward to help with their enquiries.
A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “We received a report that a 12- year- old boy had been assaulted in Green Road around 4pm on Tuesday.
“Thankfully the boy only suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident, but he was understandably upset.
“It appears that the incident is part of a neighbour dispute.”
“I would urge any members of the public who may have witnessed this incident to please get in touch with our officers.”
Police Scotland say a 47- year- old man has been arrested in connection with assault charges and is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court.
