SNAPCHAT SHOCK AS SCHOOLGIRL MAKES HER WAY HOME PERVERT SENDS SEX VIDEO TO GIRL, 12

Parents have been warned to keep their children safe from online predators after a 12-year- old girl was sent a sickening sex video by a twisted pervert.

The unsuspecting youngster was left “distressed” after accepting a friend request from a stranger on a mobile phone Snapchat app on the way home from school.

The creep, who was described as an

“older man”, then sent the Johnstone child, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, a pornographic clip.

The girl told her mum, who alerted the cops earlier this week.

It is understood the video was deleted automatically from the app after it was opened by the girl.

Now officers are warning parents and guardians to make sure they keep up to date with what their children are up to online.

Inspector Cassie Glass, who is based in Johnstone, said: “We received a report from a concerned parent after her 12-year-old daughter was sent an indecent video when she accepted a stranger’s friend request on social media app Snapchat.

“The video was deleted, but the girl was understandably distressed by what she had seen.

“We are investigating the incident and believe the images may have originated abroad.

“I would urge all parents to be aware of their children’s online activity.

“A common sense approach to monitoring your child’s social media accounts could prevent incidents of this sort occurring.

“Please warn young people about the dangers of accepting friend requests from people they don’t know.

“And please also urge them to bring any inappropriate material they may be exposed to to your attention immediately.

“If you have any concerns about any activity your child is involved in then please contact the police.”
