Bubbles will be ready to throw you off course

5K event promises a great day out for all the family

- Kenneth Speirs

04.05.2018 Have fun and get lost in a sea of bubbles at a major fundraiser for one of Paisley’s favourite charities.

Last year an amazing £36,000 was raised for Accord Hospice at the Bubble Rush in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park.

And hopes are high that lots of cash will be raised on Sunday when the annual event takes place again.

There is still time to register and you can even sign up on the day and bring in the cash for the charity, which looks after the seriously ill at its Hawkhead Road base and in people’s own homes.

A spokesman said: “The 5k course starts in a sea of bubbles and features four bubble stations along the route with cannons pumping out coloured foam to create a deep bubble bath.

“The course is family friendly, so you can run, jog, walk, dance or toddle through the foam. Pushchairs and wheelchairs are more than welcome.

“The event is not timed, so you’re not racing anyone – the most important thing is that you enjoy your time in the bubbles and finish with a big smile on your face.

“Bubblers do it for fun with friends and children – and everyone gets a medal at the end!”

The event is a joint one with Scottish Hospices where last year it raised £100,000 in total.

Accord requires millions of pounds every year to provide its invaluable service.

It provides communities in Renfrewshire and areas of East Renfrewshire with high-quality specialist palliative and end-oflife care.

The hospice has grown and developed since its inception in 1982, and bosses insist none of this would have been possible without the support of individuals, local groups and businesses.

The Bubble Rush takes place on Sunday between 8am and 5pm.

It is being organised by the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

You can register with them by calling 0141 429 5599 or at ww.p pprinceandprincessofwaleshos pice.org.uk
