The Patter’s brilliant - as bar is placed in country’s top ten
Pub bosses raised a glass after being crowned one of the best 10 bars in the country.
Owner Margaret Patterson poured the bubbles when the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards hailed The Patter Bar.
She took her whole team to the glitzy bash after her boozer made the shortlist for punters’ favourite.
Margaret said: “We didn’t bring home that title but we were totally overwhelmed to even get as far as that.
“The staff had a great night celebrating and would like to take this time to say a big thank you to everyone for their continued custom and adding great memories and people to our Patter Family.
“A huge well done to all the finalists and those who took home awards up and down the country. “We’re very proud.” The Patter Bar made the list after being backed by customers.
Independent judges visited the pub in Paisley’s Old Sneddon Street to score everything from service to quality of drinks and relationships with the public.
The haunt was praised for its friendliness and was invited to the gala final in Glasgow’s Merchant Square.
The evening had a special circus theme, boasting acrobats, jugglers, fire breathers and stunt performers.
Staff dressed to the nines to enjoy a champagne limo ride to the competition.
Hundreds of pubs were nominated for the prize – but The Patter Bar was among the final 10.
The Criterion took the top award back to St Andrews.
The Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards also handed out gongs for the country’s best restaurants, nightclubs and takeaways.
A spokesman said: “The awards attracts more than 5,000 businesses to compete annually, and is growing year on year.
“It is unique in its approach by opening voting to those who engage most with the industry – the customers themselves.
“Communities from across the country are invited to support their favourite local and national businesses.”
Neighbours Callum’s Cavern also made the shortlist for Best Entertainment Venue.
