TIDY TODDLERS

Woodland walk clean-up

- David Campbell The Toddle Tots group got involved in Renfrewshire Council’s Team Up to Clean Up campaign

A group of toddlers s h owe d their community spirit when they took part in Renfrewshire Council’s Team Up to Clean Up event.

The Linwood youngsters often explore the Riverside Walk and were surprised at just how much litter they could see and decided to do something about it.

The eager kids, aged between one and four, from the Toddle Tots group really got into the spirit of things, competing to see who could fill their bag first.

Group organiser Marion McDonald said: “The wee ones had so much fun on our litter pick that the next week when we went for our regular Tuesday toddle, they picked up an empty bag they found and started to fill it without being asked. “It was really enjoyable. “When we were out they were making up stories about trolls under the bridge.

“It really feeds their imaginations.”

Toddle Tots is a new, free, walking group for toddlers and their “big toddlers”, parents or carers, and is based in Linwood with the support of Active Communities and Paths For All.

The families eat breakfast together and enjoy songs, rhymes and stories on the go

Toddle Tots welcomes newcomers to the group and leaves from the Linstone Housing Hub at Belmar Court, Linwood, at 10am every Tuesday, with cereal available beforehand from 9.30am for those who would like to share breakfast too.

More information is available on the group’s Facebook page at www. facebook. com/ scotstoddletots .
