Spotlight will shine on our university
Paisley’s university is hosting its first cross-university student showcase event next week.
The event is designed as a platform for UWS students to display their excellence and expertise, celebrating their successes and achievements.
The aim is to provide a forum for students to demonstrate their skills, talent and passion for their subject, illustrating their ability to think critically, creatively and to contribute to the local, national and international economy and society.
Featured will be work from across all six of the university’s schools – Business and Enterprise, Education, Engineering and Computing, Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Media, Culture and Society and Science and Sport.
Professor Craig Mahoney, principal and vice-chancellor of UWS, said:“We are truly delighted to be showcasing the amazing work that all of our students produce as part of their course for the first time in a university-wide event.
“I hope this will encourage members of the public to visit the university and to use facilities such as the cafés on campus, while giving them an opportunity to find out more about our students and their fantastic achievements.
“I would urge everyone to come along and see first-hand just what wonderful work goes on within UWS and how we are transforming students’lives .”
The event is taking place at the Hub, café and Coats Building on Paisley Campus from 11am until 3pm on Tuesday, May 22.
