Johnstone Burgh saved the best for last as they stopped Gartcairn winning the league on the final game of the season.
Burgh boss Jamie McKim again rolled with the changes as he continued to test the waters before next season in a bid to put his stamp on the Burgh.
And the future looks bright for the Keanie Park side as they were in tremendous form.
However, it appeared as though it was going to be an uphill battle against Davie Greig’s supposed champions-elect, with the visitors racing out of the traps and firing themselves ahead after less than a minute.
Ryan Bennett was the man on target, giving Cammy Sinclair no chance, as Gartcairn looked to put the tie beyond any doubt.
But nerves were cleary creeping in and Burgh soon took control of proceedings before half-time.
On- form Euan East, who has been tremendous in recent weeks for McKim’s side, struck twice before Ryan Fitzpatrick added Burgh’s third all before the interval.
With their title dreams in tatters, Gartcairn came out in the second half looking to salvage what was left of their season. And despite having promotion already confirmed, ‘Cairn were keen to add their first ever silverware to the mantlepiece.
