No targets set until pre-season, insists boss

-

St Mirren boss Jack Ross revealed he won’t set any targets for his players until discussing them as a team.

Ross split last season into quarters in order to give his side something to aim for over the course of the whole campaign.

But, despite the board believing that the side has what it takes to aim for the top six in the Premiership next season, Ross says he won’t do the same until talking with his players.

He said:“Once we come in as a group in pre-season we will sit and discuss what we think is realistic for us.

“We need to try and stay true to what we have done over the past couple of years. But we need to be smart enough to know what we need to adapt to.

“Hopefully we will then be in a position to have a positive season and not just scrabbling around trying to survive.

“We know what we’ve got to do and we want to start the new campaign well.”
