Brian really is a hero

-

What a fabulous read your story about hero taxi driver Brian McClure was. (Express, May 16)

It genuinely was uplifting to read about him jumping straight in to help elderly driver Joan Naylor when she suffered a heart attack while she was driving

Not many people would be able to think so fast on their feet and put the wellbeing of a stranger first in such stressful circumstances.

The paramedics or doctors told Brian that if it hadn’t been for his efforts then the lady in question would probably have passed away.

Her lips were turning blue at the time, yet he calmly took instruction from the ambulance service over the phone and started CPR.

So for him to receive the Local Hero award from the local police was very fitting. And for Mrs Naylor and her husband to thank Brian with some cash and some wine was a lovely touch.

Brian’s boss at Braehead Radio Cars, and his family, must be very proud.

The uncertainty over Jack Ross’s future is giving many St Mirren fans the jitters and the odd sleepless night - myself included.

But I think we all need to be realistic and realise that football is a business.

Whether you are an out and out football purist or casual observer of the game, it is money that talks.

Players, backroom staff, managers and board members come and go. The one constant is the support. And true supporters will always back the Buddies - no matter who is at the helm as we take the step back up to the top flight.

I enjoy the games, the banter, the excitement and the fact I can share my match-day experience with my grandchildren.

So while I would love Jack to stay, I will be there next season no matter who is in the dugout. Thomas McLellan Paisley
