Excitement levels are through the roof
Flynn is raring to go
St Mirren midfielder Ryan Flynn admits he is already rubbing his hands in anticipation ahead of the announcement of the new Premiership fixture list next month.
Having joined Saints in January from English outfit Oldham Ahtletic, the wide man was a key player as Jack Ross’ men secured their return to the top flight .
Trips to Celtic Park, Ibrox and Pittodrie await a rejuvenated Saints side and Flynn, 29, can’t wait to mix it with the big boys.
He said: “I’ve spoken to a few of the boys about it. I think when the fixtures come out that’s when the excitement starts to build.
“But the focus does change for next season. There will be a different expectation on us.
“There will be different demands on us. It’s going to be a lot tougher but I think we are all looking forward to it.
“Even when you watch the Premiership on TV you think that’s the games you want to be involved with. So I can’t wait.”
The former Falkirk man made 14 appearances for the Paisley side to help them towards promotion after penning a two and-a-half year deal in January.
And since returning north of the border the exciting winger has shown flashes of what enticed gaffer Jack Ross to snap him up in the first place. Now his focus is a crack at the big time.
He added: “I think the performances since I came up the road have been excellent. We’ve been by far the best team.
“Obviously this is a step up but we have to look at it, not with fear, but with a bit of excitement and really back ourselves.
“It will be a challenge, it will be difficult, there will be hard times but I’m looking forward to it.” LINES OPEN P
