Been so long in touch...mum, know you’re okay

“We will use every resource available in Police Scotland.”

Cat lover Patti is understood to have had difficulties with alcohol in the past, and had previously been reported missing when she failed to return from a holiday.

Bu t o f f i c e r s say the circumstances this time are different.

Enquiries in relation to CCTV, bank accounts and mobile phone records have so far turned up nothing and her passport has not left the country.

“As we have carried out these enquiries we have found no activity in relation to Patricia since the middle of November 2017, which is the reason we are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety,” added DCI Sommerville.

Although officers insist the investigation is still a missing person hunt, they admit they are not ruling out criminality.

DCI Sommerville said: “It is very much a missing person inquiry.

“However, police need to keep all possibilities open in our minds, which means we will never exclude criminality.

“We will always consider the potential that something has happened, but at this moment in time we are looking to try and find out where Patricia may be.

“After six months we have to keep our minds open to all things that might have happened to Patricia.”

Cops say the family have been left devastated since Patti vanished and again urge members of the pubic to provide information on the case to them.

“This is having a huge impact on her family and friends, who are all worried about where Patricia might be ,” said DCI Somerville.

“Like I said, she has been missing in the past, and she does live her own life.

“She lived a number of miles from Paisley. It wasn’t like she was in constant daily contact.

“However, after six months this is really concerning to all her family members. We have specialist officers who are supporting the family during this time.

“Patricia is a friendly woman who is loved by her family. She had a number of friends and her family are very concerned as to where Patricia is just now. So I would appeal to Patricia, if she is listening, to make contact.

“And I would appeal to anyone who has seen her to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
